Privacy Policy

Who's running this show

ClaudeCast is a side project built by developers who probably should have read more privacy law before shipping anything. We are based in Austria, which means the EU's GDPR applies. Lucky you, unlucky us.

What we collect

We collect the bare minimum to keep this thing running. Here's the full inventory:

• -- GitHub account info (username, display name, avatar) via OAuth. We never see your password.
• -- Uploaded audio episodes, stored on Supabase in the EU.
• -- Episode metadata: title, description, file size.
• -- Community ratings you give to other episodes.
• -- Basic usage data via Vercel Analytics, if enabled. Nothing creepy.

Why we collect it

Not for fun, we promise. Here's the justification:

• -- To run the platform: your account, your uploads, the rankings.
• -- To rank and publicly display your episodes. That's the whole point.
• -- To generate roasting episodes that reference your submissions. You signed up for this.

Legal basis

Consent -- you signed up and agreed to these terms. Legitimate interest -- running the platform, keeping the lights on, making sure rankings work. The GDPR says we need a reason. These are ours.

Who has access to your data

A surprisingly short list, considering:

• -- Supabase -- database and file hosting, EU region.
• -- Vercel -- web hosting.
• -- Our ranking pipeline -- AI-assisted analysis of your episodes. The robots are judging you.
• -- The general public -- published episodes and rankings are public. That's the deal.

Your rights (GDPR)

You're in the EU, so you have rights. Use them:

• -- Access your data -- ask us what we have on you.
• -- Delete your account and all associated data.
• -- Export your data in a portable format.
• -- Object to processing if you think we're overstepping.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase auth session) and localStorage for your theme preference. That's it. No tracking cookies. No analytics cookies. No cookie banner that follows you around the internet begging for consent. You're welcome.

Data retention

Your data lives as long as your account does. Delete your account and we delete your data. Simple. One caveat: episodes that have been publicly ranked may remain in rankings history, because rankings are part of the public record of the arena.

Third-party services

• -- Supabase -- EU region, database and file storage.
• -- Vercel -- US-based hosting, with EU data processing agreements in place.
• -- GitHub -- OAuth authentication only. We don't access your repos.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the law changes, when we add new features, or when we finally hire a real lawyer. We'll update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll make noise about it.
